Hello!
My name is Jacquie Bicanic (she/they) and I have recently started my Masters of Environment & Climate Emergency, and I am running for Vice President-Activities!
As the current VP Sustainability & Welfare I have worked closely with the current VP - Activities and the events team to deliver Love, Sex & Consent Week, Sustainability Week, Mind Mojo, Stress Less Week(s), Mental Health Week, RespectFest and the upcoming Pride event. I have experience as a Guild Executive and in delivering events for students.
I have experience as the 2023 club President & founder of the Sustainable Collective at Curtin Club (SCC). I stepped back from this role last year after being elected as Vice President Sustainability & Welfare.
I believe that students deserve the best university experience possible. With uni fees rising, I feel that students deserve a campus that is fun, vibrant and enjoyable. As Vice President Activities, it will be my mission to achieve this through events, activities and supporting clubs.
If elected, Illuminate will:
Bring passion and experience to the role
Deliver weekly food giveaways
Introduce more grants for clubs
Open the doors of the clubs hub in 2025
Keep Guild events free!
