Events Coordinator


The Role:

We are looking for a full time Events Coordinator to join our team who will:

  • Coordinate the development of our annual events calendar.
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of on-campus activations and events, ranging in complexity from small activations through to large scale high impact events.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, staff, and tasks concurrently to meet project deadlines.
  • Develop run sheets and provide on-ground supervision and direction to event staff during event delivery.
  • Develop and manage budgets for individual events within a broader operational budget.
  • Prepare event risk assessments and reports and conduct post-event debriefs.

 

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the event industry, particularly in the delivery of high impact events (i.e. those involving temporary food stalls, installation of temporary structures, rides and amusements, service of alcohol, and/or more than 5,000 patrons)
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to lead a team and work with multiple stakeholders to deliver events
  • Good working knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A level of fitness commensurate with the position
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required (noting however that most work within this role occurs between 8am – 6pm, Monday – Friday)
  • Class C WA drivers licence or equivalent

 

Desirable

  • Completion of a relevant degree level qualification(s), or equivalent prior experience
  • Understanding of the process and requirements associated with obtaining various local government permits (i.e. temporary food business permits, public event permits, etc.)
