Hi! I’m Shravani (She/Her), and I’m running for the position of Guild Councillor with Momentum! I’m currently studying a Masters of Supply Chain Management.
I am not running because I think I have all the answers. I am running because I am willing to listen, learn, speak up and do the work. I want to be a Guild Councillor who is approachable, genuine and willing to turn students’ concerns into meaningful action.
I believe university should be more than attending classes, completing assignments and graduating. It should be a place where students feel heard, supported, safe and part of a community.
During my bachelor’s degree, I was actively involved in organising student events and workshops. My team and I worked together to create successful events. On reflection, I know I could have contributed even more. That is something I have carried with me, and now, at Curtin, I want to make the most of the opportunity to give back to the student community.
If elected, I want to focus on the everyday issues that genuinely affect students: financial pressure, employment opportunities, transport, safety and feeling connected. I will advocate for more scholarships and financial support, greater access to on-campus employment, improved or free shuttle services, and an expanded Curtin Link service to help students travel safely when they need it. I also want students to feel that their concerns do not disappear after they are raised. I may not be able to solve every problem, but I can listen, communicate honestly, raise concerns and work collaboratively with other representatives to find practical solutions.
My involvement in the Yoga, Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain and Women’s Clubs reflects different parts of who I am. I care about wellbeing. I am ambitious. I want to support others to succeed. I want to bring that same energy from the clubs I love to the Guild. I want to be someone students can come to without hesitation, someone who will genuinely hear them and someone who will keep working even when change takes time.
My goal is simple: to make student life a little easier, a little safer and a little more connected, and to graduate knowing that I left something meaningful behind and made a difference to the lives of others.
