Hey y’all! My name is Tahni Rowe (she/her), I’m a double degree Chemical Engineering and Commerce student, and I’m running to be your 2027 Guild President and NUS Delegate.
I’m passionate about our Curtin community and have spent my time here getting involved. I’ve served as Media & Marketing Coordinator, Secretary and President of the Curtin Engineers Club, as well as Licensing Director for the Curtin Mixology Society. I’m a former Guild Councillor and currently serve as your Vice President – Activities.
In my time on Guild Executive, I’ve worked on campaigns including the anti-merger campaign and represented student voices in the implementation of the National Higher Education Gender-Based Violence Code. As VP Activities, I’ve delivered free live music at The Tav every Friday, increased Tav events to three per semester, introduced Clubs Trivia Tuesday and improved existing events like Stress Less. On top of this I have also delivered a wide range of events including Toga, World Week, Barnyard Bash, Riff Rumble, PJ party, Interclubs Trivia Night, Grill the Guild BBQs and Love, Sex and Consent Week!
Your Guild should be independent and fighting for you, from the quality of your education, to the cost of living, to feeling safe on campus and enjoying campus life.
I’ll fight for more money in your pockets, including free breakfasts, $3 snacks and coffees, stronger cost-of-living support, public transport grants, freezing rents at campus accommodation and paid pracs for all students.
I’ll fight for fairer education: capping exams at 40%, capping hurdles at 40%, reducing harsh late penalties, a 48-hour extension decision guarantee and mandatory assessment feedback dates in your student outlines.
I’ll work for a safer and more inclusive Curtin, with better campus safety, space for faith, accessibility, expand access to free period products, easier pathways to Curtin Access Plans and expanding Curtin services to telehealth.
And I’ll keep fighting for more campus life and whimsy: bigger events, more night markets and festivals, increased club funding, better club spaces and course excursions.
I’m not running to sit in an office. I’m running to be a visible, accessible President who gets things done and makes our Guild truly independent in order to represent students.
