G’day! I’m David, a third-year mechanical engineering and finance student, the current Chair of Guild Council, a small business owner and I’m running for Guild Councillor and NUS Delegate as part of ELEVATE Your Voice! in 2026.
MY EXPERIENCE:
I’ve been Chair of Guild Council for over a year, been a member of the Finance and Risk Committee for almost 2 years and was elected to represent you nationally as part of the National Union of Students last year. I’ve been part of the Curtin Student Guild since I joined Curtin University in 2024.
I run my own small business where I help schools educate their students and staff on how to safely use AI in the classroom. I also managed a collection of tutors and have helped dozens of students throughout their ATAR journey over the last 4 years.
My passion has always been to leave the world better than when I found it. I’ve put that passion into the Curtin Student Guild by pushing for more affordable, healthy food options, introducing Guinness into the Tavern, holding Guild executives accountable and writing unanimously supported policies on improving mental health support, cheaper university-funded sport and gym facilities and establishing clear, transparent democratic processes.
WHY I’M RUNNING:
Curtin University and the Curtin Student Guild can do so much more for students. I want to bring a truly independent student perspective to be able to deliver tangible benefits for students.
I believe all students deserve representatives that understand how to get things done and puts their needs first. Education is becoming more expensive, student wellbeing is often overlooked, and it’s easy to feel powerless when decisions are made far above our heads. I want to change that by advocating for:
• Mandatory Feedback Dates in Unit Outline
• More and cheaper parking
• Better accountability and transparency from both Curtin University and the Curtin Student Guild so students know the decisions being made and how to get involved. And SO MUCH MORE.
I’ve been listening, I’ve been delivering and I want to continue to push for a Guild that works for you. All I need is your support.
