MORRISON, Tegan (SOCIALIST ACTION)

accessibility

Hi, my name is Tegan Morrison. I'm a socialist and student activist and this year I'm running for accessibility officer with Socialist Action.

The Labor government is slashing funding for NDIS, wanting to kick 170,000 people off of the NDIS by 2030, not to mention the many people who will be denied access when they previously would have been given the service. This is so they can significantly increase military spending, to help make more disabled people in other countries.

In a world that prioritizes profit over people, disabled people are not only seen as burdens but also created at a rapid pace by horrible working conditions to destructive, useless (for the working class people) wars; by poverty created not by a lack of resources but a lack of profit and much more. Capitalism constantly puts working class people in conditions that result in disability and does next to nothing to help them once they are

With the rise of the far right and one nation, the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the destruction of the environment among many other issues. We need a student guild that is willing to fight our capitalist institutions, fight the far right and fight for social just issues and for socialism!
