Hello! I am Joyce Marquez (She/Her) and I’m running to be your Faculty of Health Sciences Representative with Momentum!
Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Secretary of the Curtin Filipino Students’ Society, a committee member of the Curtin Allied Health Club, and a member of the Curtin University Students’ Sport Advisory Council. All these experiences have allowed me to meet and work with many people from different backgrounds, taught me how to effectively collaborate, and enabled me to apply my passion for leadership and making positive change right here at uni.
If elected as your Health Sciences Representative, I will continue advocating for paid placements for everyone and ensure the voices of Health Science students are heard loud and clear.
My core focuses will be:
Graduate & Career Readiness: Hosting faculty-wide networking events and panel nights with industry professionals and recent graduates to ensure you gain valuable insight and feel more confident and ready for your career.
An Allied Health Pavilion & 24/7 Sim Labs: Campaigning for a dedicated health common room to host career events, socialise, and network, alongside 24/7 swipe access to simulation labs for flexible clinical practice.
Improved Study Spaces & Safety and Wellbeing: Leveraging my Health Promotion and Health & Safety background to elevate and increase our study environments while fostering a campus culture that actively prioritises student safety and mental wellbeing.
I will also strongly back Momentum’s vital campus-wide policies: stopping the Uni Merger, locking in a $10 meal price cap at Cafe Central, and securing a 48-hour assessment grace period.
I am organised, enthusiastic, and ready to work hard for our faculty.
