Hi everyone, I’m Astor (they/them), and I’m running for Guild Council with ELEVATE Your Voice!
I was involved with the Queer Collective for two years and I am currently the Queer rep where I have been building a stronger and more connected queer community at Curtin. In my time as queer rep I've progressed a number of campaigns including the HIV self testing vending machine, free period products, expanding all gender bathrooms across campus and running events where students feel seen and heard. I’ve also volunteered with Freedom Centre, where I’ve helped run peer support sessions and connected with organisations providing gender-affirming care and sexual health resources.
Through these experiences, I’ve seen how important it is for queer students to have a strong voice within the Guild. I’m running for Guild Council to bring my experience, passion and commitment to queer students to the wider Guild.
