My name is Zobia (She/Her) and I’m running with Momentum for the position of Vice President Activities!
During the last year, I’ve had the honour of being a Faculty Representative with the Guild. I’ve already brought multiple years of experience as a committee member of three clubs into my role, which includes treasured lessons in delegation, organization and collaboration. I’ve also worked on familiarizing myself with other clubs, creating eye-catching advertising and paying attention to those little details that elevate an experience. These skills, combined with my passion for creating a thriving social scene on campus, makes me the perfect choice for your Vice - President of Activities!
My main priorities for 2027 will be focused on essential needs in the cultural and social space here at Curtin.
The first is ensuring greater inclusivity of as many students during the year, including events in collaboration with the new Ethnocultural Officer role and with the Accessibility Officer. I want to ensure that the Guild is able to provide meaningful, fulfilling, interesting and accessible events covering all scopes, all year-round, to all students.
Additionally, I will create avenues to assist new clubs with operating, engaging with their audience and promoting themselves. The club space has had a big refresh recently with dozens of new clubs being established, ready to create memories that members won’t forget. I want to make sure these clubs and their members have the best possible experience when starting out!
And I won’t stop there. There are dozens of improvements that could be brought to how the Guild operates for you; connecting more students to their Representatives, improving how the Guild promotes its events, implementing feedback faster, incorporating authentic human art and talent into its work and much more. I’m ready to create a Guild with a social scene that is unforgettable.
