GARDOLL, Finn (Momentum)

humanities

Hey!

My name is Finn (he/him), and I’m running to be your Faculty of Humanities Representative with Momentum!

As a current Guild Councillor, I’ve spent the past year learning how the Guild works, representing students and holding representatives accountable. Now, I want to use that experience to make sure Humanities students have a strong voice, both within our Faculty and across the University.

I’m a double-degree student studying across different faculties. I've seen firsthand how much the student experience can vary depending on what you study. Humanities students deserve the same quality of education, opportunities, events and support as everyone else.

If elected, one of my biggest priorities will be making sure Humanities students are heard when decisions are made about our education. Momentum will fight for up-to-date course content, faster and more meaningful assessment feedback, better access to lecture and tutorial materials, and genuine student consultation when courses, assessments or teaching delivery are changed. We’ll also fight course and staff cuts and growing class sizes, because quality education requires properly resourced teaching and meaningful access to educators.

I also want to make campus life more exciting for the humanities quarter. I’ll work with Humanities clubs and student groups to deliver more social, cultural and creative events and make sure our Faculty gets its fair share of Guild activities and opportunities. Momentum will increase support for all clubs, make funding easier to access and encourage more collaboration between student groups to deliver bigger and better events.

I’ll also make sure Humanities students are kept informed about the decisions that could fundamentally affect their degrees. I will work alongside VPE and other Momentum reps to ensure students get placements, including Education students, who have been faced with consistent challenges on this front.

If elected as your Humanities Representative, I’ll be visible, accessible and willing to fight for our Faculty. Whether it’s your education, cost of living or simply making the Humanities a better discipline to study, I want students to know they have someone in their corner.

Humanities deserves a strong voice. This is your moment. Vote Momentum.
