Hi there!! My name is Bridget Clifton (she/her), a second year Health Science student and I’m running for NUS delegate and Guild Councillor for 2027! I had the honour of being Vice President - Activities and Women’s Officer last year and I want to continue advocating for students throughout the rest of my degree.
Some of my past wins in the Guild was rolling out the Period Product Dispenser program, hosting the most popular guild-run party (House Party) where the Tav was at capacity, and consistently hosting fortnightly events for women with collaboration with the queer and accessibility departments.
I’m running for Guild Council because I want to continue using that experience to make the Guild work for students. I want a Guild that is visible, accessible and responsive. A Guild that listens to students, advocates strongly on the issues affecting them, and creates a campus community that students genuinely want to be part of.
I’m also running as an NUS Delegate because the issues affecting Curtin students don’t stop at our campus. Cost-of-living pressures, the affordability and quality of education, student welfare, housing and accessibility are issues that require students to have a strong voice at a national level. I want to ensure Curtin students are represented in those conversations and that their priorities are taken seriously.
