ANTENUCCI, Mia (ELEVATE Your Voice!)

accessibility

Hi everyone!!!

My name is Mia Antenucci (she/her), and I’m a second-year psychology student. I also have multiple Disabilities, and I am extremely excited to be running for Accessibility Officer for 2027.

I served as the Accessibility Officer in 2026, and I look forward to continuing my work next year.

As Accessibility Officer, I spoke in front of the Senate Inquiry into the NDIS on behalf of the Curtin Guild. I strongly opposed the cuts due to the profound impact that they will have on students with Disabilities.

I also hosted an event as Accessibility Officer that connected students with Disabilities from multiple universities with policymakers, and I have become very involved in the Disability advocacy space.

In the past year, I have helped students with:

· Universal Accessible Toilets (locations and compliance)
· Student Accommodation Access Issues
· Emergency Evacuation Plans for students with Disabilities
· CAP Plan issues
· Physical access issues
· Accessible Events

I look forward to continuing my work in these areas and implementing some new ideas as well. Some ideas I would like to implement include an Orientation Session for students with Disabilities and improvements to the parking situation for students with Disabilities at Curtin.

Please let me know about any other accessibility issues you are having, so I can prioritise them. If you have any ideas to improve the Accessibility at Curtin, I would love to hear them!
