Tegan Morrison
I am Tegan Morrison (she/they) a transgender postgrad student studying a Masters in Human Rights and I’m running for Guild Council with Illuminate.
I’m passionate about advocating for queer students, and have experience both inside and outside of Curtin. Over the past year, I’ve been involved with the Guild’s Queer Collective and the Curtin Ally Network and am currently contributing to the making of new transition guides for trans students at Curtin. I also have experience in the Perth mental health and queer spaces, such as being a youth representative for the Mental Health Commission in WA.
If elected to Guild Council, I can continue to advocate for queer issues on a new platform. I will work to make a more accessible campus for queer students, especially in getting accessible bathrooms for gender non-conforming students. On top of this, I will also promote the need to improve Curtin Counselling, advocate for access to e-scooters on campus, and push for more large-scale events such as a music festival.
I value the equity and well-being of all students on campus and believe that everyone should feel safe and accepted at Curtin University.
