SHEARN, Chris (Reform Curtin)

councillors

Hey, my name is Chris Shearn, I am a 2nd year Commerce student and am running to be one of your Guild Councillors in the 2026 Curtin Student Guild.

Thanks to the two left-wing party system, the guild’s priorities have turned to activism. Let me be clear, the Guild’s top priority should always be the Students. There is no pragmatic, student-based alternative advocating for the needs of the everyday Curtin student.

That is why we have formed a new party, Reform.

We will fight to re-prioritise the issues before the guild. Extremist-like activism should not be the guild’s number one priority.

Ask yourself, was storming the TL Roberston Library with a riot of drum and megaphone-wielding activists during study week really in the interests of Curtin students?

Did Illuminate and Left-Action think about our students when they Hijacked the Engineering Building 215 and assaulted students?

This is not putting you first, and it has gone on for far too long.

We need Reform.

We need to restore balance on campus, where student wellbeing is fostered and

The Curtin Student Guild is a Student union that should advocate for Curtin students. It is NOT Federal Parliament.

We will fight for the things students actually want:

  • Better quality Assessment Feedback across the board
  • Detailed Feedback and Results to be released for Final Exams
  • A fairer and better Group Library Booking system
  • Better Uni Life: themed parties, student-led tours, inter-varsity sports competitions
  • A Designed Outdoor Study Area
  • More Permanent Parking Areas

We need change, we need Reform.

But we can’t do it without your support.
