ROVIS-TAYLOR, Sam (Reform Curtin)

nus

Hey, my name is Sam, I am a 2nd  year Mechanical Engineering student and am running to be one of your Guild Councillors in the 2026 Curtin Student Guild.

Let me be clear, the Guild’s top priority should always be the Students. There is no pragmatic, student-based alternative advocating for the needs of the everyday Curtin student.

That is why we have formed a new party, Reform. We will fight to re-prioritise the issues before the guild. We will put the needs of the Curtin student first.

We believe Curtin students should have a new option for guild representation.

With a fresh face and new priorities, my collaboration with Reform and my active presence in the Guild, I aim to immediately impact the daily lives of the Curtin students in a positive notion.

Reform will focus on the more direct issued that impact every student on a daily basis, and make a strong push to get much needed changes and policies in place that will benefit the living standards and learning quality of the Curtin students.

Reform understands that the Curtin Guild is a body of university students, and not parliament, and we will do everything in our power to voice for correlating issues of Curtin students, keeping our goals directly in line with the students of the University and bringing in a much needed change.

A vote for reform is a vote for the Curtin students, and not a regime unapplicable to the average Curtin University Student.

We need Reform.

We need to restore balance on campus, where student wellbeing is fostered. We will advocate for the everyday freedoms all students should have.

The Curtin Student Guild is a student union that should advocate for Curtin students. It is NOT Federal Parliament.

We will fight for the things that the everyday student actually wants:

  • Better quality Assessment Feedback across the board
  • Detailed Feedback and Results to be released for Final Exams
  • A fairer and better Group Library Booking system
  • Better Uni Life: themed parties, student-led tours, inter-varsity sports competitions
  • A Designed Outdoor Study Area
  • More Permanent Parking Areas

We need change.

We need Reform.

But we can’t do it without your support.
