G’day! I’m David (he/him), and I’m excited to be running for the National Union of Students (NUS)!
As a second-year Mechanical Engineering and Finance student, and current Guild Councillor, I know how to turn ideas into practical outcomes. Whether that’s building AI tools, managing teams, or working on Guild committees to improve services for Curtin students, I’ve always focussed on getting things done.
My extensive experience committees have given me firsthand insight into how large organisations manage resources and how important it is to ensure students’ money is being used responsibly. Beyond numbers, I care about people. I want to guarantee that every student has a voice and that they’re represented in the decisions that affect them, especially at the national level.
Why I’m running for NUS:
I believe all students deserve representatives that understand how to get things done and puts their needs first. Education is becoming more expensive, student wellbeing is often overlooked, and it’s easy to feel powerless when decisions are made far above our heads. I want to change that by advocating for:
-
Affordability by pushing for fairer funding, more transparency around how the NUS spends students’ fees.
-
Accountability by ensuring national student organisations are transparent and will deliver real outcomes for students.
-
Better Innovation and technology implementation across the board. We deserve to have access to industry-leading technologies, not vastly outdated knowledge that won’t help guide us towards a career!
I want to make your voice heard at the national level. I’ve been listening, I’ve been speaking up, I’ve been delivering, and I’ll bring that to the NUS. All I need is your support.
