Hi, my name is Hilary (she/her). I’m a third-year Psychology student, and I’m running for Guild Councillor with Illuminate.
I’ve been part of a large student club committee where I helped plan and organise events that brought people together from all different backgrounds. From managing logistics to creating a welcoming atmosphere, I learned how to balance leadership, teamwork, and communication. These experiences showed me how important it is to build inclusive spaces where everyone feels comfortable and valued.
My core values are confidence, collaboration, and community. I believe student life should be more than just classes—it’s about connection, support, and making sure every student has the chance to feel included and heard. As a Psychology student, I understand the importance of well-being, and I want to make sure that mental health, belonging, and campus culture are always a priority.
If elected as a part of the Guild, I plan to bring forward ideas and initiatives that strengthen student life, whether through events, campaigns, or support services that make the campus a more connected and positive place. I want to ensure that all students, no matter their background or interests, feel like they belong and that their voices are represented in the Guild.
