Hey! My name is Mikaela (She/Her) and I’m in my fourth year at Curtin, studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing. I’m running for Guild Councillor in 2026!
Student equity, accessibility and experience are important to me. I’m a firm believer that you should be able to have pride in your whole university experience, but that it’s only made possible when you’re provided quality courses, resources and content, as well as a safe and welcoming campus.
I come from regional WA and have had a very multifaceted experience with many aspects (and difficulties) of student life while studying– such as living in student accommodation, renting, changing degrees, working part time, and requiring access to student support services. I’m in a position where I understand the scope and variability of student experiences, both good and bad.
As guild councillor I will advocate for a higher standard of quality for online lectures and resources, as well as continue supporting efforts to relieve the pressure of cost of living on students.
