Hey, I’m Coben Foster. I’m currently an undergraduate student studying Mining & Metallurgy and am running to be your Guild Councillor in 2025.
Through my work as a member of the Liberal Party and being involved in Party Committees across Perth’s northern suburbs. I know what it takes to create meaningful difference through the right actions and policies. That’s why I will fight to end the pay disparities faced by Health Students during Prac Placements. $64 dollars a day for nurses does nothing but disrespect students attempting to help and work in a healthcare system already on it’s knees, which needs them now more than ever.
I will fight to see our university be a place we are all proud to represent and be at, through greater unity and decisive action taken sooner on meaningful issues which for too long have been ignored and allowed to grow out of hand.
And I will fight for action around cost-of-living pressures on campus, with discounts at campus food and store outlets, along with reductions in the price for parking. A university making $1 Million + a year in one unit alone can afford lowering parking’s a few dollars for students.
For too long have the key issues affecting Curtin students been ignored. It’s time for change. It’s time for common sense, and it’s time for action.
The Guild needs students with a track record of lobbying and fighting for issues that matter, and as your Guild Councillor I’ll do just that.
