Hello! Kaya! Kumusta!
I'm Isobel (she/her), a first year Engineering student, running for a position as Guild Councillor.
Sustainability is at the forefront of my passions and I believe that is fostered through inclusive communities, progressive discussion and access to opportunity.
If elected I will ensure the voices of fellow students are heard and considered in the Guild’s decisions. I am particularly passionate about community outreach and hope to advocate for university partnerships and ties that reflect the interests of students. I want to create a Curtin experience that enriches the next generation not only academics but leaders, and that starts with a guild that seeks connection with community and students.
I would be a valuable member of the guild through my leadership experience gained in The Future Female Leaders program where I championed for gender inclusivity in STEM fields and as a 2025 John Curtin Scholar, given to those with the capacity to inspire change based on continuous efforts in my community.
Outside of Curtin I spend my time at beach cleanups, volunteering at industry events and running STEM workshops at local and regional primary schools/ community centres.
I am committed to making my community more inclusive and collaborative so I believe I am prepared to do so as a Guild Councillor.
