Hey !! I’m Loukia (she/her) and I’m studying a double degree in Law and Journalism at Curtin. I’m super excited to be running for Guild Councillor for 2026!
I know firsthand that uni isn’t always smooth sailing, from confusing enrolments to trying to juggle everything life throws at you. What matters most is feeling supported, listened to, and having access to services that actually improve our lives both on and off campus.
I’ve been apart of grassroots political campaigns, listening to the community and advocating for progressive change. These experiences have taught me the value of building community… the same approach I want to bring to the Guild.
I’m running because I want students to be genuinely heard and respected. As cost of living rises and our HECS debts grow, it’s impossible to ignore that the Vice Chancellor is taking home a seven-figure salary while students are struggling to pay rent, buy groceries and manage their health. University should open doors, not weigh us down with unfair financial pressures and unnecessary stress. We shouldn’t be treated like cash cows.
I’ll work to ensure students have the support they need to get through uni without constant stress, making day-to-day campus life more affordable and manageable. We all deserve a university experience that’s fair, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable.
