Kaya! My name is Brandon, and I am a proud third-year psychology student and I'm Boandik, my mob is from Mount Gambier- South Australia. I'm running for the role of First Nations Officer at the Curtin Student Guild. As a First Nations person, I am passionate about creating a supportive and empowering environment for all Indigenous students on campus.
One of my primary goals is to make the current First Nations Equity Room a more welcoming and inclusive space for all Indigenous students. I believe this space should be a reflection of our rich cultures, a place where we feel safe, supported, and connected to our roots.
Mental health is another crucial area that I am deeply committed to. As a psychology student, I understand the unique challenges that Indigenous students face, and I believe it is essential to raise awareness about these issues. I will advocate for increased mental health resources tailored specifically to the needs of our community, ensuring that every Indigenous student has access to the support they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and culturally.
