Hi, I’m Cian Burke. I’m a Commerce student and socialist activist. I am running with Left Action - Free Palestine for the position of Faculty of Business & Law Representative.
I’m running in this year’s student elections because I think we need a Student Guild that tapes up political issues and is willing to fight for the rights of students and in solidarity with the oppressed. The mass movement for Palestine has seen thousands of students across the country and here in Perth become active in the fight for justice, and the Curtin Student Guild needs to play a leading role in organising the fightback here at Curtin.
Activists in Left Action - Free Palestine have a long history of fighting for social justice issues. The Curtin Student Guild and the National Union of Students have a lot of resources to mobilise students for causes on campus and on the streets. We’re running to bring that activist experience and strategy to the Guild.
