We all know how important Guilds are but imagine what we could achieve if Guilds across the country worked together to truly put students first. A lot of students ask, “What difference does it actually make?” That’s where the National Union of Students (NUS) comes in. It’s the platform where our voices can be heard on a national level.
Curtin Student Guild has a strong history of standing up for education, welfare, and social justice. As your 2025 Vice President of Sustainability & Welfare, I’ve been proud to continue that legacy. I’ve worked hard to make sure student concerns are not just heard, but acted on with confidence and without compromise.
In just seven months, I’ve helped launch some amazing initiatives: the Recycling Hub and Containers for Change on campus, the student pantry, Welfare Week, and the Ethnocultural Collective. I’ve also worked closely with the Australian Human Rights Commission on the Racism@Uni survey, helped write the Student Charter with our 2025 President Dylan Storer, and supported the Guild’s Equity Officer. We’ve improved dietary options, created multifaith and meditation spaces, and taken a stand by cutting ties with Ben Gurion University. And coming this November, we’re rolling out smart bins to get students involved in the national 10c recycling initiative.
I’ve shown what I can do and I’m just getting started. If you want someone who’s experienced, passionate, and ready to fight for what matters, I’m your candidate.
