What does this role do?

The supporting pillar of the Guild that takes care of admin, finance and governance.
The Secretary is elected from among the Guild Councillors each year.

Preparing agenda and minutes for various Guild committees
Overseeing the Representation budget and approving payments
Briefing reps on governance rules and procedures
Helping the Guild Executive with their projects
Supporting and training student reps

About Mitch

G’Day, I’m Mitch, the Secretary of the Guild in 2024. I’m a Research Candidate in Chemical Engineering working on more sustainable mineral processing practices. I enjoy Cricket, Formula 1 and long walks on the beach. In the past I have been an executive of multiple clubs and I was also the Guild’s Postgraduate President. I want to ensure the Guild is the best it can be in compliance, governance and financially. I’m also the one to contact if you have questions about governance or want to attend a meeting of the Guild Council or the Representation Board.
