POLICIES, PUBLICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

GUILD STATUTE BOOK

  • Curtin University Act 1966 (WA) - Part II - Student Guild

  • Statute No. 4 - Student Guild
This document outlines a framework for effective operation of the Guild. The Guild’s existence is enshrined into WA Legislation through the Curtin University Act 1966. Part 3 of this document outlines what the Guild Council is and does. This legislation allows the Guild to create its own regulations without needing to go back through parliament each time.

  • Student Guild Rules

  • Statute No. 27 - Student Services Amenities Fee

  • Student Services and Amenities Fee Rules

  • Student Guild (Administration) Regulations 2018
The regulations create the rules of how we operate, establishing most of our officers, boards, committees and fundamental rules for proper functioning. As a Guild Councillor, it’s important to know the regulations and make sure the Guild’s processes/decisions abide by them.

  • Student Guild (Election and Referenda) Regulations 2018

  • Student Guild (Guild Council) Regulations 2018

  • Student Guild (Tribunal) Regulations 2018

  • Determination of the Renumeration Committee August 2020

  • Student Guild By-Laws 2018
The by-laws are the rules we create for our processes. The by-laws sit under the regulations and tend to be more operational and internal. For example, they state the rules for clubs, how internal policy is made and the standing orders.

  • Committee Constitutions

ADVOCACY, LOBBYING AND CAMPAIGNS

Here's a guide to understanding and developing a campaign!

ADVOCACY

The process of raising voices in an effective manner so as to influence others. Advocacy is a means rather than an end or a product, it is about informing and educating your target group.

LOBBYING

A key activity of advocacy. It is an important advocacy activity. When we lobby, we aim to persuade or influence the actions of a certain group to support our position.
