After three days of polling, Curtin students voted YES to the question “Do you agree that the Curtin Student Guild should remain a member of the National Union of Students Incorporated?”
The Curtin Student Guild will be holding a referendum, asking enrolled Curtin students “Do you agree that the Curtin Student Guild should remain a member of the National Union of Students Incorporated?”

About the NUS
The Curtin Student Guild has been a member of the NUS since 1987.
Not every university campus is an affiliated member of the NUS. This membership allows candidates to become delegates and represent not only student interests as a whole, but the interests of Curtin University students in particular during various conferences.

In-Person Voting
It is planned that in person polling will take place at the Bentley campus between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 22 March 2022 to Thursday 24 March 2022 inclusive. At the discretion of the Returning Officer, the in person polling period may be reduced and/or not take place due to Covid related impacts.
Postal Voting
To ensure that you get to vote and have a say in this referendum, you are encouraged to lodge a postal vote. Requests for postal voting must be received no later than 12:00 noon Tuesday 15 March 2022. Completed ballot papers must be received by the Returning Officer by the close of poll, 4.00 pm Thursday 24 March 2022 or as otherwise extended by the returning officer to be included in the count.
Follow these steps to apply for a postal vote:
- Download and digitally complete this application form
- Email to NPro_curtin@elections.wa.gov.au from your Curtin student email account (it will not be accepted from any other account)
The postal voting packet will include information for both the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ cases.
