CURTIN EXTRA RECOGNITION
As a club committee member, you can obtain official recognition of your time spent running your club. This is a valuable tool in demonstrating your skills and experiences to potential employers.
Curtin Extra is the university’s official form of recognition for students who actively contribute to co-curricular programs. These programs aim to enhance your personal and professional development and offer unique experiences during your time at Curtin. Here's a student testimonial about their experience with Curtin Extra.
You can participate in multiple Curtin Extra-approved programs throughout your degree, as long as it fits with your course load and other commitments.
As a Guild Club Committee Member, you play a valuable role in building the student community through service and collaboration in your club role. Since clubs and societies are student-led, we want to ensure your contributions are acknowledged.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Record your hours
Each year, club committee members will receive a Welcome to Curtin Extra email with a link to UniHub to register for the Guild Clubs and Societies Committee Member program where you must log your hours by the deadline if you wish to gain recognition.
Part of your unique Curtin Extra experience is the ability to determine your level of participation. The levels are outlined as follows:
- Tier One - 20+ hours approved within the participation period. Simply log your hours spent working on club activities.
- Tier Two - 35+ hours approved within the participation period, five skills development modules plus a reflection activity. You can log your hours spent working on club activities and complete the modules in your own time.
FAQs
- We have had changes to the committee since renewing our club with the Guild this year: Update the Guild of any changes to your committee throughout the year to ensure new committee members receive a Curtin Extra invite to register for program recognition. Contact the team on clubs@guild.curtin.edu.au
- I didn't receive a Welcome email: If you have not received this email within a month of starting your participation in a program, please contact your program coordinator directly on clubs@guild.curtin.edu.au or email curtinextra@curtin.edu.au.
Deadlines
30 November, each year. You are responsible for completing your Curtin Extra requirements by the deadline.
For more information, please identify which year you held your role on the club committee:
- 2023 and older: The deadline has passed. If you completed your hours for this program in Unihub, they should be displayed on your Curtin Extra eRecord. To check, go to the My Campus tab in OASIS. Please note however, that accreditation is not automatic so if you did not register and log your hours in Unihub by the 30 November within the year you held the role, we cannot re-open the program as it cannot be backdated.
- 2024: You can only record hours between 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024. Once the deadline has passed, we are unable to re-open the program as it cannot be backdated.
- 2025: You can only record hours between 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025.
