GRAMMARLY
Grammarly is a widely available artificial intelligence (AI) tool that make suggestions relating to spelling, grammar, and punctuation. More recent updates include generative AI functions such as paraphrasing and composition.
Use of generative AI without permission is generally forbidden at Curtin and using the paraphrasing and composition function of grammarly puts you at risk of being investigated for Academic Misconduct.
However, Curtin students have access to a unique version of Grammarly which has the generative AI functions deactivated. Extensive testing by Curtin’s Student Conduct team suggests that use of Curtin's Grammarly subscription will not be flagged as generative AI in Turnitin. Curtin offers several thousand student licences for free every year.
You can find more information about the Curtin-approved version of Grammarly and how to access it on the Library website.
STUDIOSITY
Studiosity is an online writing and study skills service that offers writing feedback and one-to-one, personal help in real time. Studiosity's subject specialists do not deliver course content.
Access Studiosity through Blackboard units by clicking on the Students menu at the top of the page under Library Resources.
