We are hosting a talk conducted a young advocate with autism about lived experiences with autism and how to better understand those who are on the autism spectrum. This is a great opportunity to learn more about autism and is especially crucial if you are looking to work in the disability sector or even in everyday life.

Jayelan's Bio: Jayelan is a 15 year old boy who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He spent a lot of his life not being able to communicate with others as he is non-verbal. One day him and his family tried using a letter board to get Jayelan to try and spell out words to communicate, it worked ! Jayelan was finally able to talk to his brothers through spelling out words, tell his Mum that he loves her and also do mainstream classes at school. Jayelan spoke about wanting to become an Autism Advocate one day and he would love to give you all an insight into who he is, his life and what it is like being non-verbal and living with ASD.
