About

Students for Refugees Curtin is a student-run, non-political, and not for- profit organisation that stands as Curtin Students' voice for refugee and asylum seeker rights.

We will focus everything that we do around our
three dimensions of Advocacy, Community, and Education to create a
space where we can educate, interact, and volunteer with those in the
refugee community and with other humanitarian organisations united in
our cause.
Our club will stand as a focal point of advocacy for Curtin students on the
plight of refugees in Australia. We plan on hosting and collaborating with
local human rights organisations on many educational, inclusive, and
proactive events such as panel discussions, protests, quiz nights,
volunteering sessions, movie/documentary nights, and many more.
Our social media will contain a wealth of knowledge on the current
refugee crisis in Australia with regular educational posts and a planned
monthly newsletter to our club members. For our members, we will create
a mailing list such that we can share volunteering resources,
opportunities, and our newsletter.

The Curtin Student Guild recognises the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional owners of this land, and pays respect to elders past, present, and emerging.
