About

For students who want to engage with Labor campaigns on and off campus and the broader labour movement.

Our membership is as varied as the university with members coming from all faculties and backgrounds. Getting involved with the Curtin Labor Society provides a great opportunity to meet like minded students who have arrived at similar conclusions as you but often through very different paths. The things that links us together is our commitment to progressive causes, discussing and educating people around progressive issues and taking action to improve our society.

Not all of us are members of the WA Labor Party and it's not required to become involved in our group. We encourage critical involvement with the Labor Party by supporting progressive MPs and candidates, questioning policies and speaking out against them when need be. We are not afraid to be critical of ALP policies if they fall short of ensuring equality of access and opportunity for all.

Our four pillars are:

  • Socialism
  • Feminism
  • Unionism
  • Democracy

The Curtin Student Guild recognises the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional owners of this land, and pays respect to elders past, present, and emerging.
