RETURN OUR TUITION FREE WEEKS!
Curtin removed one tuition free week from each semester.
Since May 2021, students have been speaking up about the impact of this change on their mental health, studies and campus community. We have seen no tangible action from Curtin in response to student concerns.
Tuition-Free Week Survey 2023
As of Monday, 16th of October, Curtin will be sending a survey to all students via email, seeking your input on the return of a second Tuition Free Week.
You'll be asked to cast your vote with a simple YES, NO or NO PREFERENCE response to the prospect of adding a second tuition-free week to each semester. Three optional text response fields will also be provided for you to share your thoughts on the potential advantages, disadvantages, and any other comments related to the proposed change.
Your input matters, and this is your opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of our academic calendar.
The survey will be available from Monday October 16th to Friday October 27th.
Campaign Background
In 2021, Curtin University transitioned to a single tuition-free week for each of its two semesters. However, as part of the approval process, the Academic Board initiated a post-implementation review, which was originally scheduled for 2024. But thanks to the Curtin community's concerns and the advocacy effort of your student representatives, the board has decided to accelerate this review to 2023.
