Curtin Student Guild is not responsible for any messages that originate from non-Curtin Student Guild sources posted on these forums. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Curtin Student Guild. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to use the facilities provided within the forums to report the message, or contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

This discussion forum service is provided for the purpose of supporting and facilitating discussion amongst Curtin students allowing them to participate in, and make valuable contributions to campus life.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree, by logging in to this forum, that you will not knowingly subvert the functionality of the forum system. This includes any action that manipulates the underlying software application or other technologies in order to interrupt the service, access information or otherwise derive results that are not part of the intended purpose of this discussion forum. We consider such actions "malicious misuse" and we reserve the right to revoke membership of the forum and take appropriate legal action if at any time we suspect any user of having such intentions.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by the forum owners. By submitting content to the forums you are attesting that you are the original author of the work and that any citation or appropriation of others people work within its content has been appropriately referenced or otherwise cleared and approved by the relevant copyright holder. Any work submitted to the forums remains the property of you, the author, and will be publicly attributed as such via your forum display name.

By submitting content to the forums you grant Curtin Student Guild royalty-free and irrevocable permission to reproduce, and the right to download and print any material that you post.

If you believe that your work has been used by Curtin Student Guild in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, contact the Forum Administrator through the details provided within the forums with a description of the work, its location on the site and a statement that it is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.

The Curtin Student Guild website and its forums are not responsible for copyright infringements made by any third party resulting from the publication of your content on the Curtin Student Guild web site.

Forum Rules

In Curtin Student Guild’s Discussion Forums you must follow these simple rules to keep the discussions safe and friendly for all users. By registering on the forums and logging in you are attesting that you understand and will comply with the following rules of forum use. Please avoid:

1. Insulting, threatening, annoying or provoking another person.
2. Being hateful towards a specific group of people. These discussions are open to people from all backgrounds.
3. Swearing, using hate-speech, or making obscene or vulgar comments.
4. Breaking the law. This includes breach of copyright, defamation, condoning or promoting illegal activity and contempt of court (by making posts that could affect the outcome of an impending court action).
5. Spamming (posting the same comment multiple times).
6. Advertising commercial interests.
7. Impersonating or falsely claiming to represent a person or organisation.
8. Posting in a language other than English. We don't have the resources to support multi-lingual discussion.
9. Invading someone's privacy. Please don't post anyone's personal details without their permission. Please only post professional details wherever possible.
10. Posts that are not relevant to the forum the post is being made in.

Moderators are monitoring the discussion forum. If you break the rules, the moderator has the right to remove part or all of your post without warning. If you repeatedly break the rules, you may be permanently prevented from registering, logging in and/or posting.
