Curtin Karate Club

Contact: curtinkarate@gmail.com

Curtin University Karate Club is a not-for-profit club that dates back to 1971. its founding sensei has been around throughout its existence, demonstrating his commitment and passion, which clearly sets this club apart from some commercial schools.
Our club focuses on training to improve our physical, mental and spiritual state endeavoring to be true to the original essence of the art. This is more beneficial than the purely physical approach often associated with martial arts. The name of our school Tai Shin Kan translates to mean “School to train towards an empowered new self.”
Though students participate in the overall training, we recognize that each have their own emphasis, whether it be pursuit of the art, exercise, self defence or competition. We respect etc student is different, and try to help them achieve their goal.
Our club frequently organizes social events which in the past have included BBQs, laser gaming, catamaran sailing, bowling and more. The next social event planned will be archery.
