Country Students Club

The Country Students Club was started a few years ago by a group of country students who all went through the difficult process of moving to Perth to start uni, leaving friends and family behind.  The club aims to assist new students in adjusting to their new surroundings, help them settle into the city and uni life and to create opportunities for them to meet other students who have experienced, or are experiencing, similar situations.

The club offers a number of ways to meet fellow country students, including social activities and mentoring, creating a social network.  The club is not only for first year students, but also all returning students who are after an opportunity to relax outside of study with people of similar ages and backgrounds.

Universe is about creating opportunity for students to make meaningful connections with each other. We embrace students from different backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic status and all walks of life. During the semester we hold weekly study connects at the library - where you can get together with your mates, do your much-needed study time, then catch up after at a cafe or lounge@the library for coffee and munchies. Universe is also about students helping students. You might be moving house, need a carpool to Uni, looking for a housemate, needing a friend or someone just to listen. If you've got a challenge, why not give us a call or an email and see if we know someone who can help.
In 2008, we will host social events such as BBQ's, movie nights and street parties.
