CULDAG - Curtin University Local Drug Action Group

Contact: linda.le1@student.curtin.edu.au – Linda Le

The purpose of the Curtin University Local Drug Action Group (CULDAG) is to aim at minimising the harms associated with tobacco, alcohol and other drug use by providing information to staff and students about local drug issues.  The club monitors inappropriate promotions of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs on campus and advocates the introduction of healthy policies.  The members of CULDAG believe that these are important issues that need to be addressed to improve the health of staff and students at Curtin.  Students are encouraged to join this group to get hands on community action. The Curtin University Local Drug Action Group is one of 60 LDAS branches across WA which deals with the issues associated with drugs, tobacco and other drug use amongst the community. We provide an opportunity for students in Public Health to get involved in community work and for other students to gain valuable life skills.
All students are welcome to join the group, but it would be of greatest use for those wanting to work in the area of health promotion, nursing, psychology, social work or public health.

Socialist Alternative

Contact: jessica_mcleod85@yahoo.com.au

We’re fighting for a world in which the workers who create all the wealth democratically decide what and how much our society needs, rather than decisions being determined by the pursuit of profit.
The aim of socialists is to build a revolutionary organization that can participate in mass struggles, draw lessons from past victories and defeats and convince the working class the way forward to socialism.
Such an organization has to be built out of the conflicts taking place today.
