AIPSSA - Association of Indonesian Postgraduate Students and Scholars in Australia

AIPSSA is an organization for Indonesian Postgraduate students and scholars who are currently pursuing their study and research at Curtin University. The purpose of AIPSSA is to promote interest, research and network among postgraduate students and other parties. The club organizes seminars and workshops, cultural functions and social events.

Association of Malaysian Students – AMS

The Association of Malaysian Students (AMS) is a social club which aims to foster and promote unity among Malaysian, international and local students through activities and events of the society.
In addition it also strives to aid the orientation of new students – Malaysians and international students to the campus.
It also provides discounts through its membership card to allow an easier transition for overseas students adjusting to living in Australia. The AMS will also help its members with passport, student visa and other related matters as well as be a representative of its members to the Curtin Student Guild at Curtin University of Technology.
AMS welcomes all students to join and embrace the Malaysian culture.
Membership costs $5 for Guild Members and $10 for others

Chinese Society

The Chinese Society (CS) is a social and cultural club representing students from all over the world particularly those of Chinese background or with an interest in Chinese culture and socializing at events. CS enables students to meet new people and extend their network of friends. With a fun and friendly committee we will ensure an exciting time at Uni.
We have awesome social events every year including the popular RICE clubbing events, karaoke night, drinking camp, quiz night and MORE.
We also offer free Chinese language classes and other cultural classes to all members.

The CSSA is a non-political, non-profit student organisation which aims to strengthen contact and to promote friendship among our members, to help the Chinese Students & Scholars with their living and academic adjustments and to arrange events that promotes cultural diversity in the University community through promoting the Chinese culture. Also to promote and share Chinese culture with other individuals/associations on campus by hosting events and activities. CSSA also strives to provide services to its members by facilitating the exchange of information between China and Chinese students studying at Curtin and by defending the rights of its members on campus.

DESI – Subcontinental Students Society

DESI is an established student guild affiliated social club based at UWA, Curtin and Murdoch universities and is run by a committed team of students across these major universities. Our primary objective is to bring together the Indian, Pakistani, Sri-Lankan and other sub continental youth of Perth and nurture this growing community.
We organize and participate in a wide range of successful social events catering specifically to the sub continental student population. Our renowned events include the semestrial Masala Mix shows, river cruises, the Anokha 1,2 and 3 balls, cocktail parties, sports days as well as international acts including famous artists such as Bally Sagoo, Panjabi MC and RDB. Furthermore we have participated in various community activities throughout Perth such as the AAA Mela at Murdoch University and the Vaisakhi Mela.

OSIS - Overseas Indonesian Society

OverSeas Indonesian Society (OSIS) is a social and cultural club that aims to gather old and new Indonesian students, anybody who is interested in Indonesia and introducing Indonesian cultures. OSIS facilitates new students to adapt faster to a new environment and help them meet other Indonesian students to extend their networks. Another purpose of OSIS is to introduce Indonesian cultures to people who are interested. OSIS can gather Indonesian students to assist international students that want to learn Bahasa Indonesia during speaker’s corner time. This club will also provide activities such as Layar Tancap (movie screening), Kumpul-Kumpul (gathering) and also gathering with Indonesian clubs from other universities.

OSSWA - Omani Student Society

The Omani Society in WA (OSSWA) was established in 2003 to support the Omani students in WA by bringing the entire society under one roof, which in turn helps to get the Omni’s easily along with the academic society in WA. OSSWA aims to build up good relations among Omani students and others, social organizations, to run cultural and sport activities, publicise the rich Omani culture and heritage and participate in various events organized by Curtin University or other societies in other WA Universities. It is also to guide the new Omani students upon their first arrival in Perth. Currently, the total number of members of the Omani student society at Curtin University is approaching 35 doing different courses ranging from PhD to Bsc. The society organizes regular and occasional activities. The most important of which is the weekly cultural and sport activities. Additionally, we are planning to organize an annual Omani Cultural Exhibition which will give an introduction about the rich culture and tourism in Oman.

Singapore Connection

The purpose of the club is to promote the Singaporean culture to the students in Curtin University. This is done by means of organizing social gatherings, clubbing events and food festivals. The club also aims to foster ties with other affiliated associations to organize activities such as Singapore International Foundation, Singapore Western Australian Network and Contact Singapore.
