International Student Committee Duties and Responsibilites [Join/Renew]

Vice President
The Vice President shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Assume the role of the President in the absence of the International Students Committee President;
(c) Be responsible for overlooking the International Students Committee Budget with the President and the ISC General Secretary; and
(d) Perform other duties as required by the President and the International Students Committee.

General Secretary
The General Secretary shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Handle all the administrative work in the Committee so as to enable the smooth running of the International Students Committee;
(c) Perform other duties as required by the President and the International Students Committee;
(d) Liaise with the Guild General Secretary regarding expenditure;
(e) Ensure timely processing of invoices, reimbursements and other paperwork related to approved expenditure;
(f) Be the minute taker for all International Students Committee Meetings;
(g) Remind the committee to submit their reports, at least 4 (four) business days prior to the report submission due date;
(h) Ensure all proposed expenditure against the approved budget is authorised by the relevant Guild Executive Officer before the expenditure is incurred;
(i) Forward International Students Committee minutes to Access and Equity Board and Guild Council; and
(j) Handle the financial management of the International Students Committee.

Education and Welfare Officer
The Education and Welfare shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Handle all the International Students education and welfare issues as requested by the International Students Committee;
(c) Work closely with the Guild Education Vice President, the Guild Project Research Officer, and other Education Officers from relevant International Student Organisations;
(d) Be responsible for researching issues regarding international student education and welfare as requested by the International Students Committee;
(e) Assist the Access and Equity Board and the International Students Committee President in coordinating education campaigns relating to international students; and
(f) Provide information and guidance to the international students that pertains to issues faced by international students and direct them to the relevant person or organisation

Human Resource Office
The Human Resource Officer shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Be responsible for the recruitment and co-ordination of International Students Committee volunteers;
(c) Provide an induction for International Students Committee volunteers and officers in conjunction with the Guild’s Education Vice President; and
(d) Liaise with other volunteering bodies if requested.

Public Relations Officer
The Public Relations Officer shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Assist the International Students Committee Convenor in maintaining a good relationship with all the International Clubs and Societies affiliated with the Guild;
(c) Respond to enquiries from the students, public, media, and other organisations that has interests in International Students Committee;
(d) Present arguments, statements, and media release on behalf of the International Students Committee;
(e) Develop risk assessments and implement crisis and issues planning to ensure the reputation of International Students Committee;
(f) Seek sponsorship for the International Students Committee in consultation with staff from the Member Benefits Division and be responsible for procuring sponsorship deals and maintaining good relations with the past, present, and potential sponsors;
(g) Work with the Guild Activities Vice President in relation to clubs and societies;
(h) Be responsible for obtaining feedback from International Clubs and Societies regarding international student issues; and
(i) Liaise with ISC’s Marketing Officer and staff from Member Benefits Division with regards to advertising material and sponsorship.

Events Officer
The Events Officer shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Organise at least two activities for international students in every semester as determined by the International Students Committee;
(c) Co-ordinating the organisation of the ISC Multicultural Week annually;
(d) Co-ordinate and organise other events as determined by the International Students Committee; and
(e) Liaise with the Guild’s Activities Vice President with regards to any activities organised.

Publication Officer
The Publication Officer shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Under the guidance of staff from the Member Benefits Division, ensure that there is a release of Paragon Magazine at least once every year;
(c) Create public awareness and promote the International Students Committee to ensure its visibility to both the international and local student and to wider community by publishing articles addressing various issues and concerns that relate to the international students
(d) Be responsible for other publication materials, as determined by the International Students Committee; and
(e) Liaise with staff from Member Benefits with regards to all publications.

Marketing Officer
The Marketing Officer shall:
(a) Initially be responsible to the International Students Committee President and ultimately responsible to Guild Council;
(b) Ensure that all International Students Committee marketing and publications are approved by the Guild and acknowledges the Guild with an appropriately sized logo;
(c) Be responsible for the production of all advertising material for the International Students Committee;
(d) Be responsible for documenting all event that the International Students Committee organised for promotional purposes and for future references;
(e) Be responsible for the International Students Committee section within the Guild’s website; and
(f) Liaise with the International Students Committee’s Public Relations Office and staff from the Member Benefits Division with regards to advertising material (i.e. creating posters, flyers, banners, and etcetera) and sponsorship.
