Bicycles for Humanity (B4H) has two facets in which the charity covers.
Firstly, B4H recycles and ships bicycles (450 per container) to allow health professionals to provide support for individuals living in extreme poverty in Africa.
These bicycles allow health professionals to travel twice as far, twice as fast and carry four times the load. Additionally, these containers are then set up as bike repair shops which enable employment opportunities and community empowerment. Secondly, B4H are collaborating with Indigenous community schools and communities within Australia’s regional areas to establish strong after school programs, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and entertainment as well as empowering these students socially.
B4H, we will hopefully be able to send the 12th container of bikes off to Africa to help health professionals and empower a community through bikes. Another positive change we hope to see is a raise in awareness locally, which will transfer into more people donating old bicycles and assist in future funding and programs.
Lastly, by collaborating with B4H, we hope to see strong fundamentals for an indigenous program for students through raising funds and awareness within these communities to promote positive community outcomes.
Bicycles for Humanity aims to provide communities with self-empowerment projects through life changing transport. This is aimed locally to empower indigenous communities, as well as globally for Africans living in extreme poverty with low living conditions.
